Make Your Luggage Stand Out

Let's face it, how many suitcases going around the carousel are black?

Almost everyone, the last time I traveled.

One way to get your luggage fast, no matter how you travel. Is to make it stand out!!

Check out these luggage tags available at Amazon.

One time, waiting for my luggage. Someone put a big neon orange x on both side of the suitcase.  When it came around the owner said, you would be blind if you missed it.

Flying with Alaska Airline

Several months ago, I traveled for the first time with Alaska Airline.

Yes, my flight was delayed by about twenty minutes.  When the plane arrived, the attendants got everyone moving along to make up time.  Some attendants were friendly and others not so friendly.  Not only are passengers moods affected by a delayed plane, but also the attendants working the terminal.

Once on board, I found the seats to average space.  The head rest on the seat is a great touch, my head didn't jerk around.  Attendants were pleasant on the flight.  Food was better than other airlines, you do have to purchase.  Also, found watching movies are a  lot nicer.   You pay a fee, and you are given a mini personal movie box.  Had movie, television shows etc.

Make sure to stay in the limits for your luggage.  Otherwise, it will cost you.  Don't get stuck by having to put a bag in cargo, get a  Cabin Max Backpack Flight Approved Carry On Bag massive 44 litre travel luggage !

The Byodo-In Temple

The Byodo-In Temple is nestled in the foothills of the Koolau Mountains.  Located at the back of a memorial park.  Large Koi fish swim peacefully in the large pond.

Occasionally, you will hear the three ton brass Peace Bell.

You are free to enter the temple, but you need to remove your shoes.  On our tour, we were given fifteen minutes here.  Really could of spent thirty to one hour here.

If you plan on taking the city bus, it is a long walk from the bus stop to the temple.  Bring water if you for the walk, you will need it.

Gift shop is also next to the temple, to pick up souvenir's.

E Noa Tours Oahu Hawaii

My first tour was with E Noa Tours in Oahu, Hawaii.  We were able to set the tour up, right in our hotel, which was the Hilton.  The Royal Circle Island filled pretty much of our day.  Pick up the hotel was 8:30am and returned approximately 5:30pm.

I did like taking the tour, but you have to keep in mind; that you are on a schedule.  And it's not your schedule.  The tour guide was full of information, and was always talking.

Tour was well worth the $69.75 per person.  Wonderful lunch at the golf course.

Hilton Hawaiian Village

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort & Spa is a short twenty minute ride, from Honolulu. You arrive to an open main lobby.

At check in they will give you a map of the resort, it will come in handy. This place is big!!

View from the fifteen floor of the Ali’i Tower.

Ali’i Tower offers its guest a private pool, whirlpool and a pool terrace. The famous Tropics Bar & Grill Waikiki Beach is located in the Ali’i Tower, on the beach front. Hawaii Five-O was film here. Pronto Pickle is small deli type restaurant, grab & go. They had sandwiches hot and cold, hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, pizza, brownies, and nachos.

If you like Starbucks coffee, there are two locations at the resort. One is around the corner of the Ali’i Tower and another inside the Kalia Tower.

You can sit outside Starbucks and enjoy a cup of coffee this is beautiful bird.

Many animals live at the resort.

Walking the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort, is a great way to get a relaxing workout. An excellent way to discover quite areas to sit and watch the Koa, birds, turtles, flamingos and more.

Several pools are located in the resort. Some towers have there own pool, for the guests of that tower. The Super Pool is located outdoors near the beach, and is in the middle of the towers. Previous picture above is the pool from the 15th floor. Super Pool area, wristband is required

Paradise pool has multi-levels, four water slides, two whirlpools and waterfalls. No matter if you go to the Super Pool, Paradise Pool, Tapa Pool, Kalia Pool, or Ali’i Pool make sure you check the hours. They are not open all day. Times vary. Towels are provided at the pool.

Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon is a great spot rent paddle boards and kayaks.

Atlantis Adventures leaves the pier at the Hilton Resort. Children must be 36” tall to ride the submarine.

The resorts brochure stated it has 90 retail shops and 19 restaurants. I personally didn’t count, but there are a lot of shops. Some of the restaurants were: CJ’s New York Style, Round Table, Benihana of Tokyo, Hanajuban Noodle Shop, Rainbow Lanai, Pronto Pickle, Sergio’s Italian Table, Bali Steak & seafood.

Most restaurants and retail shops will allow you to charge to your room. You need to set this up with the hotel when you get there. Don’t assume the shop will do this, ask before eating/shopping. Or just have a backup if they don’t. If you charge items to your room, it’s a good idea to check your bill everyday or every other day.

No coin laundry service. The ABC store did have small boxes of laundry soap, to wash clothes in bathtub or sink.

Flying with Delta Airlines

This was my first time traveling with Delta Airlines.
Our plane was delayed by about four hours. They did have soda, peanuts, and crackers at the gate for the passengers. It was nice that two Delta workers were at the gate. If your flight is delayed, ask for a food voucher. We received two six dollar vouchers.

Once on board, everyone received the movie for free. They really did make up for the delay.

Seats were comfortable with plenty of room.  With our flight being over five hours, blankets and a pillow were on each seat.

You have to pay extra for a meal on board. Our fight offered; vegetable plate (carrots, celery), and small cold finger sandwiches.

NO CASH TRANSACTIONS ON BOARD - MUST PAY WITH CREDIT CARD
